Intermediate Tour - Fun but Challenging!
X3245EBjeanr, 23-03-2022
We did the Intermediate tour with Benson. He was a great tour guide - we had a lot of fun. We may have overestimated our biking abilities and, in hindsight, would have paid extra for the e-bikes. As others have noted, the Intermediate tour is relatively long and goes up some hills that are extremely steep (and also on the main highway roads), so you really need to be a confident biker. We ended up walking up most of the hills, but Benson took his time and made sure we had plenty of stops to rest and have water.
Would recommend bringing water and sunscreen, and wearing comfortable bike shorts and light long sleeves for sun protection. The tour does include one free drink at a convenience store around halfway through.
Challenging -but fun and informative

We took the bike tour the 2nd day we were there which was a good idea. We were able to get better acquainted with the island for the rest of the week then. It ended up just being my husband and myself along with our tour guide, Benny. Benny was wonderful!! He was informative, patient, and overall a nice guy! The tour itself had many challenging hills, but Benny gives lots of breaks and checks in often to see how you are doing. I wouldn't recommend this bike tour if you don't ride much or not in good shape. Doing the E-bike tour would be a better option. Otherwise I highly recommend this tour!

Great bike tour. I’m not in super shape but found it easy. Lots of stops and our tour guide was great. Would highly recommend. Bring your sunscreen, it was quite warm.
A fun active tour.

The "E" in E-bike was a key to a successful and fun tour. The island is hilly to say the least. First and foremost, the Tri-sport company was so accommodating with our schedule nafu's, postponing the original date due to inclement weather, then, waiting for us as we were delayed an hour. Pablo was great, so knowledgeable and patient with our small group. Bikes were well maintained, although, the saddle was more suited to those who are accustomed to riding many miles at a time. No cruiser saddles on these bikes. Still a great enjoyable experience.

We had a great time riding bikes around the island and learning the history. It was very educational and fun! Our tour guides Benson and Jack where very friendly, helpful and hilarious. We saw so many iguanas and even got drinks with our tour which where delicious. Overall it was a wonderful experience for our family and a highlight of our trip! :)

Benson provided a great tour throughout St. Maarten. Many stops to admire the views and he answered questions about the island. Thoroughly enjoyed the 25-mile ride.

Pablo led us around the Island and regaled us with stories and history of the Island. Thankfully we had e-bikes as some of the hills were tough! Would highly recommend the 3-4 hour ride and Pablo! We Loved it!
